A Blast from the Past

So, this whole thing got started because of This thread.

Last night, I decided to go ahead and fly over to Wagsaacs just for the hell of it. Well, while I was there, I found a nice little Acrobat doing some questing. I started talking to him, and decided to buff him for a bit. After he finished questing, he went back to town to turn them in. Since I was really bored, I decided to just wait for him to get back.

While I was waiting, I noticed someone flying by. I had seen him before, but never really talked to him. I randomly shouted out to him, and he came back. He was another RM (one level higher than me), and he was just as bored as I was. When my Acrobat buddy came back, we took him Ghunting around Saint Morning, then stuck around with him while he did some more quests. All the while, the other RM and I talked about how we used to do this all the time back in the day.

Last night I didn't gain a level. I didn't gain any exp, didn't job change a new character, and didn't even get some new awesomely sweet equipment. But I honestly hadn't had that much fun on Flyff in years.

People always compare the past of Flyff to what it is now by talking about the content of the game. But honestly, these are the kind of things I missed. It took me so long to get from 65 to 70 because I spent all my time in Saint Morning. But I didn't care, because we always had a huge group of friends. Why, I still remember when we got some Knights to bounce the Guardian NPC on s3 from Sain City to ToS, then dropped him off at Pumpkin Town.

I honestly don't care about the content of Flyff anymore. Some changes are good, some are bad. But we have to live with it. Last night was a true experience of what I miss the most. People now and days only care about leveling up and gaining stuff. They try to plevel their new characters fast, instead of enjoying the earlier levels with other people and parties of eight. It's too bad we can't revert back to that kind of attitude.

Last night was a blast! I honestly hope I can do it again, soon. I'd take that over trying to grind any day.
